The Parliamentary Business Committee has unanimously approved that Parliament scheduled for next week be deferred until further notice.

They say as was emphasised by the Prime Minister, Fiji may be facing a new, more contagious, and deadlier variant of COVID.

The secretariat says the situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic is rapidly evolving and Fiji is once again faced with a grave and present danger to the lives of the Fijian people.

It also says together, we must all adhere to the life-saving health directives/measures and restrictions which have been put in place by the Ministry of Health and Medical Services.
