The Natogadravu Village farming cluster in Tailevu is ready to expand and secure their future growth and farming efforts after receiving a new tractor from the Ministry of Agriculture and Waterways under its Farm Mechanisation Program.

The tractor will benefit 98 households helping elevate their living standards through increased farming income.

The cluster which was established in 2015 currently has 26 members and cultivates various crops including dalo, cassava and kumala.

Minister for Agriculture and Waterways Vatimi Rayalu says the new tractor will significantly enhance farming production through mechanised farming allowing more work to be done in less time.

Rayalu also calls on the village elders to remain vigilant and support the government’s efforts to combat drug use and abuse by monitoring the youths and engage them in productive activities like farming.

President of the Natogadravu Village Farming Cluster Orisi Rokovosa believes the tractor will alleviate past challenges with land preparation and plans to use it to boost their farming operations.
