Due to the rise in crime and other illegal activities involving youths in the community, the Naseyani and Nananu youths have taken the initiative to form a team know as Taikita redirecting their focus toward sports and promoting a healthy environment.

A representative from the Taikita Brothers Rainima Rareba, says the team is made up of 25-30 boys.

Rareba says they have seen significant changes among the youths, particularly in discipline and their ability to avoid involvement in illegal activities.

He says the team has participated in two Fiji Bitter 7s series tournaments, reaching the semi-finals at the Yasawa 7s and playing in the final at the Malake 7s against the Fiji Airways National 7s side.

Rareba says their goal is to elevate the standard of their game to the next level at the McDonald's Coral Coast 7s.

The Coral Coast 7s is from the 14th to the 16th of next month at Lawaqa Park.
