Legal action may be pursued against anyone, entity misusing George FIJI’s name, likeness and/or image – Veikoso Family

As we continue to mourn and honour the memory of George “FIJI” Veikoso, his family says that no individual, brand, group or entity has been authorized or granted permission to create, produce, manufacture, sell or distribute any tribute merchandise bearing the image, likeness or name of our beloved George FIJI Veikoso.

This was posted up by the official homecomingfiji Instagram page on behalf of the Family and Estate of George “FIJI” Veikoso, saying it has been disheartening, distressing and offensive to see unauthorized merchandise being produced without approval or authorization, with some bearing incorrect information, poor design standards and implied/misleading brand collaborations being produced and sold to FIJI’s fans and supporters.

They say all tribute projects or merchandise claiming official ties are not authorized and not only violate Copyright and Right to Publicity laws, but also the integrity of FIJI’s legacy.

The family says legal action may be pursued against anyone or any entity misusing George FIJI Veikoso’s name, likeness and or image.

They are asking that people stop exploiting and profiteering from the passing of our beloved George FIJI Veikoso.

The family says official merchandise that FIJI himself worked on prior to his passing, as well as tribute merchandise approved by FIJI’s Family and Estate will be available soon from the Homecoming Festival website.

They add that they deeply appreciate the love shown to George FIJI Veikoso by fans worldwide and ask that his memory be honoured with respect, dignity and authenticity.
