The trial of former Suva lawyer, Shazran Abdul Lateef and Zoe Maharaj Moore who were allegedly found with methamphetamine and marijuana in 2019 will begin in August.

It is alleged that Lateef and Moore were found with 6.3mg of methamphetamine and 07.5g of marijuana.

They are jointly charged with 2 counts of being found in possession of illicit drugs.

A bench warrant issued for the two has also been cancelled as they appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Josaia Waqaivolavola this morning.

The trial is from the 26th to the 28th of August.

Another matter in relation to Lateef allegedly absconding bail from his substantive drug possession matter was also called this morning.

The matter has been adjourned to the 19th of April for the State's position in terms of the absconding of bail charge.
