Discussions about the development of low-cost housing have been held between the Minister for Housing and Local government Premila Kumar and China's Ambassador to Fiji Qian Bo.
At that meeting, Bo was joined with a representative of construction company - China Railway 1.
Kumar has proposed for a meeting to be held between representatives of China Railway 1 and the Permanent Secretary for Housing Sanjeeva Perera.
She says they are looking for developers who can build low-cost housing.
Kumar says they are talking to a number of developers already and hope to have a meeting soon with China Railway 1 so they can move things forward.
Ambassador Bo says they hope China’s provinces can establish more relationships with Fiji.
