Fiji 7s Coach Osesa Kolinisau

Fiji 7s Coach Osesa Kolinisau will also consider players playing in the Skipper Cup tournaments and in the under-20s category to provide them a pathway to 7s if they have the skill set and talent to do so.

Kolinisau says the Skipper Cup tournaments have big, bulky, fast and skillful players that are needed in 7s and he will pull players if the need arises.

He says they have started training with his 7s players and he looks forward to improving Fiji's standing after a dismal performance in the HSBC Series last year.

Kolinisau says one of the key areas the players need to focus on is their mental preparation.

He says he only had 4 months to prepare the team for the Paris Olympics and he has identified the weakness he saw and that is something he will work on before the opening of the HSBC Series in November.

The HSBC SVNS 2024/2025 Series will kick off at the Sevens Stadium in Dubai on 30th November and 1st December.

The second tournament will be the Cape Town 7s and will be held on the 7th and 8th of December, followed by the Perth 7s in Australia from the 24th to the 26th of January 2025.

The competition will then move to Canada for the Vancouver 7s from the 21st to the 23rd of February 2025, while the Hong Kong 7s will take place from the 28th to the 30th of March.

The remaining HSBC SVNS 2025 events, including the Grand Final, will be confirmed in due course.
