A local version of the HSBC World Rugby 7s Series will kick off in Fiji next month.

It is called the Super 7s Series and will involve four 7s tournaments where the Top 16 teams will play across all the tournaments.

These teams will collect points like in the World Rugby 7s Series and in the end there will be a winner.

The first tournament will be held on the 22nd and 23rd of next month at Lawaqa Park.

Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team coach Gareth Baber says players part of the extended squad will play for their respective clubs at the beginning of the series and will gradually come together as one in the later stages.

Players in the Fijiana squad will also play in the tournament.

Fijian Coach Saiasi Fuli says they will field two teams.

Some of the teams likely to be included are Tabadamu, Ratu Filise, Taveuni, Army and Police.
