A 39-year-old Fijian man has tragically died in a road accident in Western Australia after his car veered off Dandaragan Road and crashed into a tree on Sunday night.

The victim, Sikeli Nawaqa, is believed to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

He had sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.

Three other men in the vehicle were also seriously injured and were airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital.

Among the injured, a 27-year-old man remains in critical condition in the intensive care unit, fighting for his life, while two others, aged 30 and 38, sustained serious injuries and are currently in stable condition in the state trauma unit.

Nawaqa, a farm worker from Fiji employed by Agri Fresh, was remembered by the company as a kind, warm-hearted, and passionate team member whose gentle nature and commitment will be deeply missed.

This incident marks the sixth death of a Fijian in road accidents over the past six months in Australia.

This tragic event brings the total number of road fatalities in Western Australia this year to 118, the highest level since 2016.
