The Vodafone Fiji Schoolboys U18 have defeated the Australia Schoolboys 34-25 at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka.

The Australians were hoping for redemption from last week's 26-14 loss.

Australia started strong with a converted try and a penalty to put them in a 10-0 lead, however, the Fijians managed to get on the scoreboard through a penalty from Isikeli Bari.

The Fijians rallied back and managed to score two tries through Waisake Vakacere and Raymond Navunikaba to put them in a 22-10 lead at the break.

The Australians bounced back in the second half, scoring another 10 points to close the gap to a 2-point deficit.

Fiji Schoolboys U18 wing Nathan Stephens got one back for Fiji to increase that deficit to 9 points, with 19 minutes left to go.

Asaeli Gade sealed the deal for Fiji after crossing over the try line for Fiji’s final try.
