A solid structure and well-established setup are essential to ensuring the Fiji Rugby Players' Association can effectively support players not just at the grassroots level, but all the way through to the professional ranks.
This was shared by Association Director and former FIJI Water Flying Fijian, Wame Lewaravu, during an interview with fijivillage Sports.
Lewaravu, a former Suva Grammar School student, emphasized the importance of the Association, describing it as a low-cost yet vital organisation dedicated to the welfare of players.
He explained that the Association is not only focused on player representation within Fiji but is also working to build affiliations with similar bodies in other countries—most notably France, where many Fijian players are based.
Lewaravu says these connections will help support players beyond their short rugby careers, especially during the transition back to everyday life.
He says it is important they understand the value of the Fijian Players' Association, which is now officially registered in France.
