Fiji Airports has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Tertiary Scholarships and Loans Service to enhance access to public services at Nadi International Airport.

The agreement includes the installation of digital screens displaying travel clearance messages at key departure points and the introduction of two self-service guarantor clearance kiosks near the International Arrivals Concourse.

These kiosks aim to assist bonded graduates and sponsored students in quickly delisting their guarantors upon arrival in Fiji.

Fiji Airports CEO, Mesake Nawari says the partnership would boost service accessibility and raise awareness of TSLS offerings and these placements are visible and will improve access to TSLS services.

Nawari says this agreement allows this critical service to be accessed where people are and ensures their services are easier to access, both physically and digitally.

Meanwhile, TSLS CEO Dr. Hasmukh Lal highlighted the importance of seamless, automated services.

Lal says the partnership supports a more efficient clearance process, with immigration now able to access approvals digitally.

He says after this partnership, anyone who has not obtained proper clearance despite all reminders and messages before the security clearance zone, will have themselves to blame.

Dr. Lal says that improving public service using automated and digital processes is at the core of TSLS and the guarantor clearance kiosks will help sponsored students and bonded graduates to delist their travel guarantors after arrival into the country.

He says from temporary travel, students and graduates are supposed to provide them with two guarantors when they travel- and when they return, they are supposed to notify TSLS that they are back in the country to delist guarantors.

The CEO says if they don’t do that and when the guarantors travel, they get stopped at the airport.

He adds this is a huge disappointment and the kiosk will allow them to clear guarantors' names upon arrival.

The agreement will remain in effect for three years.
