Fiji Women Crisis Centre Coordinator, Shamima Ali

Fiji Women Crisis Centre Coordinator, Shamima Ali says that they support and commend Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka’s stand and call for all parties involved in the Israel and Palestine conflict to seek a peaceful resolution to the conflict, and an immediate end to hostilities to prevent further loss of life and suffering.

Ali says the Prime Minister stands tall among other world leaders who have decided to take sides in this tragic war.

She says as part of the global feminist women’s movement they urge world leaders inclusive of women leaders and the United Nations to negotiate peace and non-violence and initiate peace talks with Israel and Palestine.

She further says the crisis has a devastating impact on everyone where many lives have been lost while in wars the most vulnerable are the women, girls and the elders.

She adds their hearts and prayers are with those who are bearing the terrible heartbreaking fallout from this war.
