The Fijian Elections Office will no longer be conducting Vax Check at its venues, however, it will continue with other COVID-19 safety measures at its premises.

This was highlighted by the Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem who says that official confirmation from the Ministry of Health states that the FEO is not categorized as a ‘high risk’ business under their guidelines.

Saneem says FEO has from 4th February 2022, relaxed the COVID-19 protocols at all its premises.

He says early last month, the FEO had implemented all the safety protocols as required by high-risk businesses following consultations with the Ministry.

Saneem says since then they have been liaising with the Ministry seeking clarification of the status of FEO and in the meantime, they implemented safety measures as per the guidelines.

He says now that clarification has been done, anyone that was affected by the earlier measures and could not obtain voter services can do so from now until the election.
