Downright filth being spewed by Victor Lal - Kirti Patel

Downright filth being spewed by Victor Lal - Kirti Patel

Editor of Fiji Leaks site, Victor Lal and former National Federation Party candidate, Kirti Patel

A former National Federation Party candidate, Kirti Patel says she is appalled and angry at what she regards as downright filth being spewed by the Editor of Fiji Leaks site, Victor Lal after Lal claimed that Patel was in India with Deputy Prime Minister, Professor Biman Prasad.

Patel says a few days ago Victor Lal in an act that she regards as despicable and gutter journalism, posted that the taxpayers of Fiji should be concerned that Patel was in India with Professor Biman Prasad.

She says this is an absolute lie and is clearly an attempt by Victor Lal to defame Professor Prasad.

Patel says it is also a deliberate attack on her morality and an insult to all women.

She says this isn’t the first time that she has been ridiculed, and sadly, it won’t be the last because the likes of Victor Lal and faceless administrators of social media propaganda sites thrive on spreading misinformation in the hope it damages the reputation of those being targeted.

Patel says the people of Fiji know that Professor Prasad is in India on an official visit, accompanied by the Permanent Secretary for Finance, Shiri Gounder.

She says the media has extensively covered the visit and the Fiji Government Facebook page also has extensive updates and pictures of both Professor Prasad and Gounder from meetings and events they have attended.

Patel says Victor Lal’s malicious lie has been replicated by at least one other social media site whose cowardly act has resulted in disparaging comments being posted against not only her but also Professor Prasad.

She says unfettered fundamental rights and freedoms are essential in any democracy but it doesn’t give anyone the right to act with impunity.

Patel says those who shamelessly do so are gutless cowards.

She has not made comments as yet on whether she will take legal action.
