Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s coach Ben Gollings

Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s coach Ben Gollings says developing new players takes time, and they have witnessed glimpses of their true potential in the last two tournaments.

Gollings highlighted this while acknowledging the team for achieving a significant milestone by securing qualification for the Olympics.

Gollings also highlighted the challenges of defending the Olympic title as back-to-back champions against opponents who are determined to dethrone them.

While also highlighting the competitiveness of the World 7s Series, Gollings noted the shifting landscape, with even traditional powerhouses like New Zealand facing challenges.

The National 7s coach says Argentina’s stellar performance has set a new standard, one that they aim to surpass.

Gollings adds their focus now is on consistency and bringing their A-game to the last six tournaments.

After 2 tournaments Fiji, is currently third on the HSBC SVNS Series standings with 30 points.

Argentina is leading the table with 38 points while South Africa, also with 30 points is in second place.

The HSBC SVNS Series moves on to Perth at the end of this month from the 26th to the 28th.
