Fiji Water Flying Fijians Coach Mick Byrne believes half of the Flying Fijians squad coming from the Northern Hemisphere are the best to compete for a spot in the Flying Fijians squad.

Byrne says the competition will be tough since some of the Drua players have been performing well this season as well and he believes the players will blend well when they get together to defend the Pacific Nations Cup.

He says preparations are going to be a tough but they are used to it, and he will be working with the Drua management to confirm the availability of the players who will be selected.

Byrne says the significant signing of Temo Mayanavanua next season to the Drua will bring more experience and composure to the locks positions.

He says Isoa Nasilasila is young and is already into his third season while Mesake Vocevoce is in his second year,

The coach says the three will make a good combination next season.

Bryne will be naming the squad for the Pacific Nations Cup soon.

Fiji will play Tonga on the 30th of August in their first game at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
