Fiji Water Flying Fijians Coach Mick Byrne is keen to give young Philip Baselala a spot in the Fiji Water Flying Fijians given how well the nippy half-back has been playing for the Swire Shipping Fiji Drua.

Byrne says considering the circumstances surrounding the position at the moment, there is a possibility to rope in Baselala for national duties, if the need arises.

The former Suva Grammar School student was scouted from the Under-18 Vodafone Super Deans Competition three years ago, went straight to the Drua Academy, and has since followed the pathway by representing Fiji in age-grade rugby at the Under-20 level.

He says they are ready to help him become a better player.

The Flying Fijians will take on Tonga in the Pacific Nations Cup on the 30th of August at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
