7 new teams will be competing at this year’s Vodafone Fiji Secondary School Rugby League competition.

The new teams are from CMF College, Nuku Secondary School, Ratu Simione Matanitobua College, Bua Central College, St Theresa-Bemana, Nasau Secondary School, and Lomawai Secondary School.

FSSRL President Ifereimi Naisoro says the increase in the number of teams this year clearly shows the dedication and commitment by the FNRL, its stakeholders, the FSSRL and the community to develop the young players.

Vodafone Fiji Regional Chief Marketing Officer Rajnesh Prasad says Vodafone is proud to have been associated with the FSSRL for the past 14 years and is committed to continuing their support in promoting the values of hard work, determination, commitment and honesty among young athletes.

Prasad also acknowledged the tremendous efforts of the Fiji National Rugby League in developing comprehensive development programs and pathways for young rugby league players in the country.

The national playoffs will be held in Prince Charles Park, Nadi on the 13th of April, the semi finals will be held on the 20th of April and the final will be on April 27th.

Meanwhile, a total of 116 teams will be participating in this year's championship.
