Lau Education Charitable Trust Chairperson in Fiji, Ane Fine Domone

Good news for all the primary and secondary schools in the Lau Group as the Lau Education Charitable Trust has made an initiative to help the children back at home by providing school stationery and other resources for their learning space.

While speaking to fijivillage News, the Lau Education Charitable Trust Chairperson in Fiji, Ane Fine Domone says due to school dropouts for those who came to urban areas, they have taken the initiative to provide the same accessibility and benefits that students in urban areas are benefiting from to those out in the island.

Domone mentioned that one of the reasons for the increase in the number of street kids in Suva now is due to school dropouts among those who migrated from the islands.

She says this includes computers, sports gear, solar, chairs, tables and other school materials.

The Chairperson says the next delivery of school resources is expected to be done on the 18 of next month.

She adds there are 45 primary schools, 5 secondary schools and 45 early childhood centres in the Lau Group.
