29,000 people who were employed by members of the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation have lost their jobs or are working on reduced hours post-COVID-19.

Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation CEO Kameli Batiweti say they had done a survey in June this year which revealed that 13,000 people who work for their members still have full-time employment.

Batiweti says he has also spoken to a medium enterprise owner who says her business has taken a turn and is beginning to bounce back from the impacts of COVID-19.

He says its about recovery now.

Batiweti says the Supermarkets never lost the traction, but the traction now has begun to pick up in a bigger way.

He says normalcy is beginning to take shape to come back.
