One-year-old killed in road accident near Barara Bypass

A one-year-old child has died following a road accident near the Barara Bypass in the Western Division on Saturday night.

Police say the child was travelling in a vehicle driven by a 23-year-old man from Sabeto, along with her mother, aunt and two siblings, when the vehicle veered off the road.

Everyone was rushed to Lautoka Hospital, where the child's death was confirmed by medical officials.

The remaining passengers and the driver were treated and later discharged from the hospital.

Police say the driver will be questioned as investigations continue.
