Attorney General and Minister for Communications Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum with students of SVC celebrating their win

Regardless of what the situation is for anyone, education and hard work can get you anywhere to achieve your dream.

This was the story behind the Movie “Dream Catcher” which was produced by Swami Vivekananda College that won the Best Film Award at the 13th Annual Kula Awards last night.

The movie is based on the true event on the life of a student whose disability did not hinder him from achieving his dream.

Lead Actor George Cere who acted as a student who grew up with hearing and speech impairment says that the making of the movie was very challenging.

In the film, Cere played the role of a student who attended a normal school where he was bullied on a daily basis however he continued on to become an aircraft engineer and married the girl he fell in love with in high school.

Meanwhile, Attorney General and Minister for Communications, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum told students that with the level of creativity that students have, they can become anything that they aspire to be.

Swami Vivekananda College also won Best Actress which was awarded to Laisa Marama and Best Actor Award to George Cere.
