For every mother, the achievements of their children are something they will always be proud of, and this rings true for Oceania Swimming champion David Tolu Young’s mother, who is spending this Mother’s Day cheering on her son in the XIV Oceania Swimming Championships 2026 currently underway at the National Aquatic Centre.

Morika Hunter says she is very proud of her son’s achievement after he won two gold medals and a bronze medal on the first day of competition.

She says Young has been preparing for the past eight months in the United States for this tournament and has never forgotten his roots.
