The Fiji 7s team shows their appreciation towards fans after their clash with Australia

The Vodafone Fiji 7s team will meet South Africa in the Hong Kong 7s Gold Medal final after thrashing Australia 33-12 in the semi final.

The Hong Kong National Stadium came alive after an electric, emphatic start from Fiji with Isake Katonibau sending Osea Kolinisau over in the corner for their first try.

Jerry Tuwai capitalized on a lovely quick tap to take Fiji to a 14-nil lead.

The national side continued their support play sending their runners and offloads everywhere.

Tuwai again scored a try from a set piece before Kalione Nasoko had the last say in the first half from a brilliant pick up from the ruck.

Fiji led 26-0 at half time.

Australia started the second half strongly scoring two quick tries but Setareki Bituniyata came in the right time to receive an offload from nippy half back Waisea Nacuqu.

The Gold Medal final between Fiji and South Africa will kick off at 11pm.

South Africa beat USA 29-24 in a nail biting semi final as they Ruan Nel scored the winning try at extra time.
