Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama at the ground breaking ceremony for the new Fijian Holdings Limited Tower at Gordon Street in Suva

Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama says that if it was up to the opposition, the economic boom that is being witnessed in Suva wouldn’t even be possible.

While speaking at the ground breaking ceremony for the new Fijian Holdings Limited Tower at Gordon Street in Suva, Bainimarama said that the SODELPA Leader, Sitiveni Rabuka saying that buildings in Fiji should be no taller than palm trees, is a joke.

Bainimarama says we are further cementing our capital city as a dynamic hub of development of economic exchange, finance and investment for the entire South Pacific.

He highlighted that FHL is investing $65 million in the 17 storey building.

The new FHL Tower which will be located opposite the current FHL building, Ra Marama House will be completed in 30 months.

FHL Group Chairman, Adrian Sofield says that the project will provide employment for 200 people.

He adds that the project is undertaken by an international contractor and is managed by well qualified and experienced Project Managers ensuring that all the necessary OHS and public safety requirements are met during the construction period.

Fijivillage contacted Sitiveni Rabuka.

He was not available to make comments.
