The race to the Vodafone Deans Southern Zone title is heating up, and three of the competition's traditional powerhouses, Suva Grammar School, Marist Brothers High School and Nasinu Secondary School, have stamped their authority in this year's tournament so far.

The three schools have emerged as the dominant forces heading into the Southern Zone quarter-finals, with each school qualifying with four teams across the various grades.

Their strong representation highlights the depth of talent, preparation and commitment within their rugby programmes as they look to secure places in the Southern Zone semi-finals and eventually earn qualification for the Vodafone Deans national competition.

Suva Grammar School once again demonstrated its consistency across the grades, with disciplined performances and a balanced squad.

Their success reflects the school's continued investment in developing players from the junior grades through to the senior divisions and their participation at the Suva Rugby Union club level.

Marist enters the knockout stage with four teams carrying the hopes of a passionate Marist community eager to see another successful Deans campaign.

Nasinu Secondary School has proven to be one of the biggest success stories of this year's Southern Zone competition matching the achievements of Grammar and Marist with four quarter-finalists. Nasinu has shown remarkable depth and resilience, setting up what promises to be an exciting knockout stage.

With all three schools boasting four teams each in the quarter-finals, they have established themselves as the benchmark for the Southern Zone.

Other prominent schools that will be playing in the quarter-finals include Gospel High School, Lomary Secondary School, and Lami High School.

The quarter-finals will be played at Grammar and Veiuto Primary School grounds with the opening game between Grammar and Marist in the Under 14 boys quarter-final at 8.30am.

The Vodafone Deans Southern Zone Under-18 competition will head straight into the semi-final stage next week, with only five schools participating in the top grade this year.

In the other quarter-final matches, the Under-15 grade will see Grammar take on Assemblies of God High School.

In the Under-16 grade, SGS will face Lami High School, while in the Under-17 grade, Grammar will play Nasinu.

In the Under-19 grade, Namosi Secondary School will meet AOG at 2:50 pm at the Grammar ground.
