Indiscipline cost the Marist Brothers High School Under-15 side the Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union Super Deans title as they went down 17-15 to Ratu Kadavulevu School this morning.
Marist was leading 15-12 with a few minutes left to full time when they were handed a yellow card.
RKS grab the opportunity with both hands, and went forward, pushing for the try line.
RKS captain Josaia Sovau exploited the space in the corner, diving over to seal the win for his team.
Marist scored first through superstar athlete Kirikiti Biu to lead 7-0.
RKS on the other hand, utilised every opportunity when they were in Marist half, slotting over 3 penalties to lead 9-7 at the break.
Metuisela Boila got Marist on the scoreboard in the second half to lead 12-9.
RKS drew things equal by slotting in another penalty.
After camping for over 5 minutes in the Marist 22-metre, Sovau finally crashed over in the dying seconds to give his side the win.
Sovau says their coaches were telling them to take the penalty but he told his boys that only a try will give them the win.
He says this win is dedicated to their parents old scholars as well as all their supporters.
In other result this morning, Ratu Navula College defeated QVS 22-17 to claim the Under-14 title, and Nasinu Secondary School thumped Ra High School 30-15.
Nasinu Secondary School is currently playing Saint Vincent College in the Weet-bix Under-16 final, while Lomary Secondary School will meet MGM High School at 3.50pm.
Coming up in the Deans finals, Suva Grammar School will meet QVS at 11.30am in the Under-16 final, RKS will take on Grammar at 12.50pm in the Under-17 final, Lelean Memorial School will face Navatu Secondary School at 2.20pm in the Under-19 final and Lelean will meet Grammar in the Under-18 final at 5pm.
