Grammar and Lelean ready for an epic Deans final

This is the moment the Suva Grammar School Under-18 boys have been waiting for, and they will give their best in the final 80 minutes of the season, leaving no stone unturned in their bid to win the title today.

This is the message from captain Waisale Bolakoro as they prepare for a final showdown against Lelean Memorial School in the Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union Super Deans final this afternoon.

Bolakoro, who will start at number eight, will lead his forwards and believes the game plan they have in place will challenge Lelean.

The Grammar skipper, who hails from Bua, says the team is hungry to end a 21-year wait for victory, and the players know what they need to do to get the job done on the field.

Meanwhile, Lelean captain Luke Daunitutu dedicates today's final to all the old scholars, parents, teachers and students who will be cheering for the Davuilevu brigade.

Daunitutu, who hails from Naila in Bau and has maternal links to Naitasiri, says facing Grammar is nothing new for them, and they are confident in the process they have followed to beat the Lions.

The emotional captain says he will also play for his late uncle, who cared for him and looked after him from childhood. He says he is devastated that his uncle will not be around to witness him play in the final.

Grammar will face Lelean at 5pm at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.

Meanwhile, the Deans finals will kick off with QVS facing Ratu Navula College at 8am in the Under-14 final, followed by RKS taking on Marist Brothers High School at 9.05am in the Under-15 final.

Suva Grammar School will meet QVS at 11.30am in the Under-16 final, RKS will take on Grammar at 12.50pm in the Under-17 final, while Lelean Memorial School will face Navatu Secondary School at 2.20pm in the Under-19 final.

Ra High School will meet Nasinu Secondary School at 10am in the Under-18 third-place play-off at Buckhurst Ground.
