Japan's Daichi Kamada scored in the 89th minute to snatch a dramatic 2-all draw against the Netherlands in their Group F opener at the FIFA World Cup this morning.

The Dutch took the lead through Virgil van Dijk before Japan responded with an equaliser from Keito Nakamura.

The Netherlands regained the advantage in the second half when Crysencio Summerville found the back of the net, putting his side on course for victory.

Japan continued to press for another equaliser and their persistence paid off when Kamada struck late to secure a valuable point.

The two sides went into the break locked at nill-all before the match burst into life in the second spell with four goals.

The result sees both teams open their Group F campaign with a point after an entertaining contest.
