Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has thanked the Fijian diaspora living in Sydney and New South Wales for their continuous support towards the Fiji Independence Day celebrations.

Speaking at a luncheon with the Fijian community in Liverpool in Sydney, Bainimarama says he is looking forward to the Liverpool City Council's support to similar events in the future especially when Fiji will be celebrating its 50th Independence Anniversary next year.

He says Fiji has a lot to learn from the extensive growth and development that have taken place in the Liverpool area.

He adds their infrastructure development is commendable and partnerships in this sector and other areas would be useful to Fiji.
