A 43-year-old man has been charged with aggravated robbery after allegedly assaulting a taxi driver in Nadi and stealing his cash, mobile phone and vehicle, which was later found abandoned at Navakai Housing.
Police say the alleged incident occurred last Friday, when the accused allegedly assaulted the 52-year-old taxi driver before robbing him.
They say the stolen vehicle was later recovered after it was found abandoned at Navakai Housing.
The accused has been charged with one count of aggravated robbery.
He is expected to appear in the Nadi Magistrates Court today.
