Fiji went down 5-0 to New Zealand in the OFC U-16 Men's Championship final at the PNG Football Stadium.

The defending champions took control from the outset, opening the scoring within the first two minutes before adding two more goals in the first half to take a commanding 3-0 lead into the break.

New Zealand maintained their dominance after halftime, scoring twice and successfully defend their title.

Despite their best efforts, the Junior Bula Boys were unable to break through New Zealand's defence.

Fiji entered the final hoping to become the first Fiji Under-16 side to defeat New Zealand in an OFC final.

Although they suffered a heavy defeat, Fiji can celebrate securing qualification for the 2027 U-17 World Cup.

Meanwhile, Solomon Islands claimed third place after defeating hosts Papua New Guinea 4-1 in a penalty shootout.
