Following the post mortem of Police Constable Peniasi Racagi, Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu has confirmed that the findings have established elements of foul play.

Tudravu says the Divisional Crime Officer Southern is heading the investigation after the police officer was found dead on Sunday morning.

When questioned regarding the threats on drug dealers and the need to involve the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, Tudravu says Police are doing frontline operations and he will continue to work with the Army Commander.

He confirms that there were 3 drug raids in Delainavesi, and the late constable was involved in the raid.

However Tudravu says there was no complaint by those who's homes were raided.

Tudravu says whoever is responsible for the death of officer Peniasi Racagi will face the full consequences of their unlawful act.

Speaking at a press conference, Tudravu says he has directed that all available resources and assistance be rendered to the investigation team.

Tudravu is also urging the community and the public to work with the Police to help find those responsible for this attack on an officer whose ambition to keep our community safe has unfortunately cost him dearly.

Tudravu says if anyone has any information or may have witnessed suspicious activities or the movement of people within the Lami Town to Lami Police Station area from 7pm Saturday to 6am Sunday, they are requested to call the Divisional Crime Officer Southern on 9905883.
