A grieving family continues to endure unimaginable pain as they wait for the chance to lay their 13-year-old son to rest with the dignity he deserves after he was found dead in Tamavua-i-Wai 4 months ago.

Speaking to fijivillage News, Keni’s family shared their deep sorrow and distress, pleading for clarity on when they will finally be able to see their son and accord him a proper funeral.

The family says the death of Uate Samisoni Keni was a brutal and senseless act, and they are urgently calling on police to find those responsible and bring them to justice.

They shared that the trauma of what happened continues to weigh heavily on them, and the lack of updates has only deepened their suffering.

His father told fijivillage News that he is heartbroken and wants justice for his son.

According to the family, the last communication from police indicated that DNA samples had been sent to Australia for testing, with results expected within six weeks, however, four months have now passed, and they say no further updates have been provided.

Despite reaching out to authorities on multiple occasions, the family says they are still waiting for answers holding onto hope for both justice and the opportunity to finally lay their son to rest.

When questioned by fijivillage News about this, Police say the 13 year old boy's body was identified but the cause of death could not be established due to the decomposition of the body.

They say a likely suspect was interviewed and later released whilst investigations continue.

We have also contacted Police. They are yet to reply.

Stay with us updates.
