Permanent Secretary for Health Doctor James Fong.

It is being anticipated by the Permanent Secretary for Health Doctor James Fong that at some point in time the number of COVID-19 cases will go up without any impact on hospital admissions and severe disease.

Doctor Fong has told Legend FM News that they are aiming for that safe equilibrium in an endemic phase and to achieve that, they need the vaccination coverage for the booster dose to be escalated.

He says right now, they are up to 30% of the population that are qualified of having the booster being covered.

He stresses that the third dose is about protecting yourself for the long term.

57 people have tested positive for COVID-19 since last Friday.
