The Nasinu Secondary School U18 rugby team has created a huge upset in the Vodafone Super Deans quarter finals after bundling out defending champions Queen Victoria School.

Both teams were locked at 20-all, but Nasinu was awarded the win after they scored the most number of tries.

QVS opened the scoring with a penalty through Isimeli Bari in the 6th minute before Nasinu scored two tries through Josevata Veibete and Viliame Rokobuli with Iowane Nabe adding one conversion to give them a 12-3 lead.

Bari then converted another penalty for QVS to close the gap to 12-6 at the break.

Nasinu extended their lead to 15-6 with a penalty to Nabe in the 39th minute, before QVS came back and scored 2 converted tries through Kitione Tabala and Saimone Vaisova to give them a 20-15 lead.

Nabe then scored the equaliser for Nasinu in the 66th minute of play which was also the defining moment of the match.

Meanwhile, the U18 semi finals next week will see RKS take on Suva Grammar School, and Natabua will face Nasinu in the second semi final.
