Mobile Kindy Fiji is making a difference by bringing quality early childhood education to disadvantaged communities in Suva.

fijivillage News caught up with the team earlier today at the Garden City Market Day where they were raising funds to support their ongoing mission.

Mobile Kindy Fiji is a non-profit organisation based in Tamavua.

Project Coordinator, Jodie Halabe says the organisation focuses on delivering high-quality early childhood education to children aged 0 to 8 in communities and settlements where access to such education is limited or nonexistent.

She says that the organisation currently operates four Mobile Kindy sites in Suva, running five days a week at Delaivalelevu, Namadai, Naulukoroa, and Kinoya.

She adds that two dedicated teachers travel to these communities equipped with a Mobile Kindy kit filled with educational resources and activities, including arts and crafts, puzzles, and word, letter, and number cards.

Halabe says they are raising funds by selling aquatic plants, handcrafted cards, and bookmarks made by teachers and students, with all proceeds supporting the organisation’s work.

Halabe says this is only their second time participating in the Garden City Market Day, but they are determined to keep returning to raise the funds needed to sustain and expand their vital work.
