Business owners are facing challenges due to the presence of unruly drunkards in Makoi as this issue has not only created an inconvenience but has also resulted in financial losses for these entrepreneurs.

Barber Shop owner Kamal Singh says his business has been severely affected by the behaviour of drunkards in the area.

Singh says they often loiter around his shop, causing disturbances and scaring away his regular customers which has resulted in reduced sales.

He says it is disheartening to see his business suffer for a few weeks due to the actions of a few individuals.

Singh says he will need to invest in additional measures to ensure the safety of his customers and employees.

He adds the constant presence of drunkards has made operating his shop more challenging than ever before.

Retail shops and restaurants are also experiencing the negative impact of having drunkards in the area.

Restaurant owner Shahil Deo says their business heavily depends on providing a comfortable and enjoyable environment for his customers.

Deo says his customers complain about verbal abuse which has created an unsafe atmosphere.

He says they have been working closely with the Police to address this issue, but more needs to be done to protect business owners.

The business owners say Police are aware of this situation and have initiated several measures to address the issue.

However, the business owners are calling for more long-term solutions to tackle this ongoing problem and increased police surveillance and stricter law enforcement.

We are currently in the process of speaking to the Police on how they are dealing with this.
