The Fiji Rugby Union is planning to hold negotiations with Wales, Scotland, and England in September, exploring how best to monetise and potentially host the matches against them in the UK.
FRU Chairman, John Sanday says if the Fiji Water Flying Fijians play a home game in the UK, the return on investment would be significant for the union.
He says they are still in the discussion phase regarding where to host the six Tier One Test matches scheduled for next year.
Sanday says extensive work is underway, with ongoing discussions about how to better monetise these matches for the hosting rugby union.
Sanday says international test matches and gate takings are two key revenue-generating streams for the FRU.
He adds that the international test match against Scotland, which was played at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, generated a financial return of approximately $430,000.
