Police have sealed off Extra Supermarket in Flagstaff, Hanson’s and Shop N Save Supermarkets and nearby shops in Makoi this morning.

Fijivillage has received confirmation that this is due to contact tracing relating to COVID-19.

Permanent Secretary for Health, Doctor James Fong has told Legend FM News that this is all part of the response to an investigation.

Doctor Fong says the members of the public have to get used to seeing this type of response.

Police Spokesperson Savaira Tabua confirms the areas are contained for screening to support the Health Ministry’s initiative.

Police officers are stationed outside all these supermarkets.
