Duavata Secondary School has won the ‘Our Constitution Challenge’ after their song on pledging to protect the planet and putting our constitutional right to a clean and healthy environment into practice stood out from over 100 submissions.

Students Mereoni Kelera, Maria Prasad, Apisai Vulaono, Poseci Baleikasavu, Mitiani Turaga, Aisea Masivesi, Epeli Vosadrau, Makereta Sinukakala, and their teacher, Sevanaia Nace Matevakaloloma produced a three minute video where they sang a song in English, i-Taukei and Hindi.

While announcing the winners, President, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere says the rights enshrined in the Constitution only make a real difference when we intentionally put them into practice.

He says it is our duty to ourselves and our children to keep Fiji clean, green, blue, and worthy of our future generations.

Meanwhile, in second place are students Charlotte Chandra, Saachi Kumar, Ruth Tarai, Daniel Beraka, and Tonia Vosatale from Votualevu College. In third place are students Ryan Chand, Sumil Sharma, and Kishan Kumar from Central College Lautoka.

Prizes include an Eco Retreat Package worth up $5,000, an Ocean Adventure Package worth up to $3,000 and a River Safari Package worth up to $2,000.

These prizes can be exchanged for their full cash value.
