A 65% pass rate for the Year 12 exam has been recorded by the Education Ministry where two students of Jai Narayan College have scored the joint highest of 398 out of 400.

The pass rate of 65% is 10% lower than 2020.

Out of the 5 students with the highest marks, 3 are from Jai Narayan College, 1 is from Natabua High School while 1 is from Xavier College.

Minister for Education Premila Kumar says 12,195 students sat for the exam and around 16% of the students did not turn up which is an increase of 4%.

Kumar says the drop in the pass rate does not come as a surprise because it has been a disruptive year and we should all acknowledge that.

She says the results released today are provisional and there is a 30 day window where students can ask for either a recount or a remark if they are unsatisfied with their result.

Kumar says the early release of the results would enable students and players to prepare for what they want to do going forward.
