A total of 24 designers from Fiji, Australia and New Caledonia will be showcasing a diverse clothing collection at this year’s Vodafone Fiji Fashion Week.

Fiji Fashion Week Managing Director, Ellen Whippy-Knight says 12 skilled designers will be participating in the Resort Cruise event which is the main event happening tonight and 12 will be participating in the Resort Lux tomorrow.

She says there are five new talented designers amongst the 24 who will be showcasing their collections and she is excited to see what the new designers have for the audience.

She says tomorrow morning there will be 19 mainstream secondary schools that will be participating in the students designer show.

This includes Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School, Adi Cakobau School, Marist Brothers High School and others.

The Managing Director says it is exciting that the schools have taken up this challenge and will be competing for the best student designer of the year.

One of the biggest global fashion show producers, Jarrad Clark who has 30 years of experience, is in the country to oversee and to add value to this year’s Fashion Week.

Clark says he loves to work with new designers and emerging markets and is very excited to see what the designers have to showcase and ways he can help them gain more success.

Fiji Fashion Week will start at 6pm tonight at Vodafone Arena.

Tickets range from $10 to $200 which can be purchased through M-paisa or from the Fiji Fashion Week office located at 7-11 Brewster Street, Suva.
