Suva Grammar School student Farhaan Tyronne Ali, and Kiara Thomas have made Fiji proud, winning gold in the U20 men's and women's Hammer Throw.
Ali delivered a personal best throw of 34.42 metres to claim gold, while Thomas threw a distance of 34.93 metres.
Ali and Thomas will be hoping to claim another gold today as they will be competing in the U20 men's and women's shot put.
The women's shot put (4kg) event will start at 3.30pm while the men's shot put is scheduled for 9pm.
Looking at other results, Nabili Vatunisolo won bronze in the Ambulant women's shot put, Iosefo Rakesa came fourth in the Ambulant men's shot put, the U18 mixed 4x400 metres relay team finished in fourth place, Sera Nasilivata and Asaeli Nagado clocked personal bests in the U18 boys and girls 200 metres final, both finishing in fifth place.
Meanwhile, Blue ribbon champion Paula Vonolagi and Jolame Suguturaga will feature in the U20 men's 100 metres heats at 6.50pm, Marist Brothers High School's Kiriti Biu will participate in the U16 boys 100 metres heats at 7.45pm, Mereseini Saunimarama and Veniana Ranadi will feature in the U16 girls 100 metres heats at 7.55pm, Jeremiah Rogo will run in the Senior men's 200 metres heats at 8.45pm, Elijah Vakacegu will feature in the U16 boys 800 metres heats at 9.36pm while Gladness Simpson and Adi Ceva Lutumailagi will participate in the U20 women's 800 metres heats at 9.42pm.
