'We must never forget what happened during Tropical Cyclone Winston and always be prepared for natural disasters'.

Minister for Education Rosy Akbar highlighted this during the commissioning of the Wainibuka District Primary and Wainibuka Secondary School's new school building which were destroyed by TC Winston in 2016.

Akbar says we Fijians are very strong, we never give up and that is what we should teach our children.

The Minister says we now prepare for the future.

Akbar says all we can do is pray that we never see another day like TC Winston again.

Akbar thanked the community, the teachers and the parents who struggled after the early days of TC Winston and made sure that children continued to attend school.

She also thanked the Indian Government for their support and contributions to the newly rehabilitated classrooms.
