The Coronavirus global outbreak has caused a further delay on the construction of WG Friendship Plaza along McGregor Road in Suva.
The majority of the Chinese workers are still in China due to the virus outbreak which started in Wuhan.
About 80% of the workers are from China.

They have completed work on the removal of the retaining wall and balcony from the Holy Trinity School land.
There had been an issue of encroachment and the school and WG Plaza had gone through mediation and it was agreed to that WG Plaza had to move their retaining wall and balcony from the Holy Trinity land.
WG Limited will then be required to submit their engineering plans to the Ministry for Local Government for the Stop Work Order to be lifted.
A spokesperson for the company has confirmed that part of the balcony which went over the boundary is yet to be removed because most of the workers are not in the country.
