Two sisters with a shared passion for fashion are set to light up the runway at Fiji Fashion Week this Saturday, proving that sisterhood and style can go hand in hand.
Suva Grammar School Year 13 student designer Darlene Papamau says her passion for design began with creating outfits for her younger sister, Isabella Papamau, who will be making her debut in the student modelling category this weekend.
Speaking to fijivillage News, Darlene says their final design piece is inspired by Fiji Water, the show’s sponsor, incorporating the colours and natural elements associated with the brand.
The 18-year-old says she spent around two weeks preparing the final piece while balancing school commitments and extracurricular activities.

Meanwhile, 15-year-old Isabella says she feels both excited and nervous about walking down the runway for the first time.
She reveals that she had always wanted to attend Fiji Fashion Week and often asked her parents to take her. She says her parents encouraged her to balance her studies with her passion.
Isabella, who is also a student at Suva Grammar School, says that when she learned about the opportunity for student models, she immediately asked her parents for permission and was thrilled when Darlene agreed to design for her.
The sisters are now preparing to showcase not only their creativity but also the strong bond that continues to motivate them in both modelling and design.
The Papamau sisters are encouraging everyone to follow their dreams and pursue what they are most passionate about.
Members of the public can purchase tickets at the door from 10am at Vodafone Arena.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Fashion Show will be held this Saturday at Vodafone Arena from 6pm.
