Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Rosy Akbar says in order for our people to understand each other better and to communicate better, we have to break down language barriers.

While speaking at the Lata Mangeshkar Musical Night, Akbar has urged parents to encourage their children to learn different languages in schools.

Akbar also encouraged local businesses and corporate bodies to support the local artists.

She adds events such as these provide us with the opportunity to appreciate the talent we have in Fiji.
