New Tourism Fiji CEO Dr Paresh Pant sets vision for smarter, sustainable growth

New Tourism Fiji CEO Dr Paresh Pant sets vision for smarter, sustainable growth

The world of travel is evolving faster than ever, and our challenge is to stay ahead of those changes, not just by doing more, but by doing better.

This was mentioned by Tourism Fiji’s new Chief Executive Officer, Dr Paresh Pant, who says that while the post-COVID boom brought record arrivals, the focus must now shift from rapid expansion to quality service delivery and smarter, data-driven planning.

He says there is a need to elevate Fiji’s visitor experience and strengthen the industry’s long-term resilience.

He adds this can be achieved by embracing innovation, enhancing visitor experiences, and being sharper in how and where investments are made.

The CEO says that in all the actions they will be undertaking, there will be a greater focus on accountability and transparency in what they do to account for taxpayers’ money, as ultimately they are funded by the taxpayers of Fiji.

While speaking about his new role, Dr. Pant says his journey in tourism began at the Fiji Visitors Bureau in Suva, and it was there that he first learned the power of what makes Fiji truly special.

He says that, apart from having been in the industry for quite some time, he also has the foresight that his academic experience has given him.

He says his commitment is to ensure that every visitor who comes to Fiji not only experiences its natural beauty but leaves feeling part of something special.
